Learning and Development

Description

Learning and Development (L&D) is a practice within HR which looks to empower employees to use their specific skills for the benefit of their organization. This can include upskilling, training and online course attendance to make sure the employee is developing in the appropriate way for both themselves and their employer. Talent gap analysis can be used in the process to spot skills shortage and improvement areas relating to an organizations overall goals, with the intention of developing an existing employee to fulfill the gap that has been identified.

Mapping the Future of Jobs and Skills: What Agentic AI Should Do – and What Only Humans Can

Sharath HariEverest GroupVice PresidentPriyanka MitraEverest GroupVice President, Human Resources and Talent Service Line
Description
In an era where agentic AI can act autonomously, learn from experience, and make complex decisions, the real challenge isn't automation, it's allocation. Which tasks and roles should be handed to AI? Which should remain human-led? And how do we future-proof the workforce in a world where skills, not job titles, define success? Drawing on Everest Group's work with 50+ organizations undergoing skills- and AI-based transformation, this session reveals the practical frameworks and technology roadmaps needed to shift from rigid structures to dynamic work and flexible, skills-first models. It focuses on how to align your workforce, technology, and data around one essential goal: getting the work done in the right way, by the right entity. Key Takeaways: • Define what agentic AI is, and where it should be deployed in the workforce • Identify the uniquely human capabilities that should be protected and elevated • Pinpoint high-impact roles for automation, augmentation, and hybrid redesign • Leverage skills and work intelligence to match tasks to the right agent (human or AI) • Understand how to redesign jobs into modular, task and skill-based structures • Learn how to evolve your tech stack and HR's role to support human-AI collaboration • Measure and manage the ROI of your new work design
